Provide direct care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents, primarily the elderly, to help them function at their highest level. Responsibilities include medication administration, monitoring resident conditions, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age. Candidates must obtain or maintain certifications in Medication Administration, CPR, and First Aid.
As a member of the Personal Care Home team, the Personal Care Home Aide assists the residents by providing care that allows the residents to function at their highest level. Service to be provided for residents over 18 years of age regardless of age, race, religion, and cultural background. Majority of serviced provided for elderly. Must be 18 years of age.
A High School diploma or equivalent.
Maintains Medication Administration Certification, CPR and First Aid certification.
Training and certification provided upon hiring.
Direct care staff must complete the Department-approved medications administration course, as well as successfully complete a department-approved diabetes education to perform blood glucose testing. (Q/A September 2014-2600.190(b))
Successful completion and passing the Department-approved direct care training course and passing of the competency test.
Preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and understand written and oral communication.
