Must be a graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program with a Diploma or AAS degree and hold a South Carolina state license. Current BLS certification is required, and NRP is mentioned, while acute care experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome.

Responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regime prescribed by a physician. The transcription and implementation of the written or verbal orders of a physician pertaining to the practice of respiratory care. Proper assessment, observation and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing. Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities. Implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician. The ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes. Performs all other duties required. Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Administers treatment prescribed by a physician for the care of patients with abnormalities associated with the process of breathing. Assumes primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments, including oversight of respiratory therapy technicians. Our Respiratory Therapists are integral members of the multidisciplinary critical care team, practicing with a high level of autonomy while collaborating closely with physicians and nursing staff to deliver exceptional patient care. Therapists participate in advanced procedures and therapies including: Intubations Arterial line placement Transesophageal pressure monitoring Bedside bronchoscopy Veletri administration Comprehensive onsite training and mentorship are provided to further develop and enhance advanced critical care skills. Shifts Available: Days/12 hours Education: Graduate of an Approved Respiratory Therapy Program with a Diploma or AAS Degree Registered Respiratory Therapist Experience: Previous acute care or critical care experience preferred; however, motivated new graduates are welcome to apply.
