Provides clinical and clerical support to the patient care team, focusing on back-office tasks and phlebotomy. Ensures smooth workflow and preserves specimen integrity while implementing medical plans of care.
Requires a High School Diploma, completion of a Medical Assistant course, and CPTI and BLS certifications. Candidates should have one year of recent relevant experience and knowledge of California's medical assistant scope of practice.
EDUCATION: HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) Other: Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: CPTI-Certified Phlebotomy Technician I BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 1 year of recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of scope of practice for Medical Assistants in the State of California. Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations. Knowledge of clinical protocols for vital signs. Knowledge of normal values for vital signs (Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respirations, Temperature). Knowledge of medical positioning for patients Knowledge of effective teamwork dynamics between front and back-office staff. Sufficient knowledge of medical terminology and the English language, to understand and communicate in a reasonable manner, the duties of the position. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Pay Range is $31.59 to $37.90 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
