The Medical Assistant is responsible for preparing patients for dermatological exams and assisting doctors with clinical procedures such as biopsies and excisions. They also manage patient records, maintain exam room cleanliness, and provide post-procedure education to patients.
Candidates should have strong knowledge of dermatologic terminology and proficiency with EMR systems. One year of medical office experience and bilingual capabilities are preferred.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Greet and prepare patients for dermatological examinations and procedures. Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints. Assist dermatologists with a variety of clinical procedures, including but not limited to skin exams, biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and cosmetic treatments. Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies. Perform wound care, suture removal, and dressing changes as directed. Educate patients on post-procedure care and general dermatological health. Manage patient records and handle prior authorizations. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR). Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Support front desk operations as needed, including answering phones and verifying insurance. Perform other related duties as needed.
Strong knowledge of dermatologic terminology and procedures. Proficiency in using EMR systems (e.g., EMA, Epic, or similar). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and staff.
