Volunteer: Check on Your Neighbor Initiative

In the wake of the challenges our Los Angeles community has faced — from devastating wildfires and displacement to immigration uncertainty and the weight of ongoing geopolitical stress — one thing has remained clear: we are stronger when we look out for each other.

Maple is launching the Neighbor Check-In Program, a community-led initiative designed to ensure no one in our neighborhoods feels forgotten or alone. We're building a network of caring, committed residents and equipping them with the tools, training, and support they need to regularly check in on neighbors who may need a helping hand, a friendly face, or a connection to resources.

We're looking for dedicated community members to step up as Block Captains — the heart of this program. Block Captains serve as a trusted point of contact on their block, helping neighbors feel seen, supported, and connected to the broader Maple community.
