Provide evidence-based clinical services, including assessment and counseling, for individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. Develop client-driven treatment plans and educate clients on harm reduction and recovery skills within a trauma-informed framework.
Requires eligibility for or current Georgia licensure as a licensed clinician (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or associate levels) and two years of related work experience. Must demonstrate competency in evidence-based treatments for addictive diseases and mental illness.
Under general supervision of the Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic Manager, the Outpatient Clinician serves as the day-to-day subject matter expert for the team. The outpatient clinician works with a multi-disciplinary team that provides evidence-based individual, family, and group counseling and psychoeducation to individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. The outpatient clinician educates clinical staff and clients about harm reduction strategies, early recovery skills, and relapse prevention skills and develops client-driven treatment plans for clients at various stages of recovery. Major Responsibilities Provides clinical services including assessment, individual, group, and family counseling, psychotherapy and other treatment modalities within a trauma informed, recovery oriented and evidence-based framework with clients who have mental health and substance use disorders. Demonstrates strong clinical judgement in assessment, application of diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations and sound triage decisions. Provides counseling/therapy with clients requiring complex intervention, including those who are suicidal, homicidal or exhibit life-threatening behaviors; determines necessity for involuntary commitment and arranging for admission. Completes assessments, manages a caseload, completes treatment plans and obtains authorization for services. Assists in maintaining environmental safety and therapeutic milieu for staff and clients/families. Maintains ethical standards. May provide substance use specific consultation for outpatient clinical staff and master’s level interns. Provides direct clinical services. Provides high quality documentation and adherence to agency guidelines. Role models and ensures staff provides excellent customer service to clients/families, staff and visitors. Required Qualifications Eligibility for Georgia licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Associate Professional Counselor or Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Two years of related work experience, computer proficiency and ability to multi-task Demonstrates competency in using evidenced based treatments for addictive diseases and mental illness Ability to work from and promote a person-centered, recovery oriented, and trauma informed philosophy in client care.
Current Georgia licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Associate Professional Counselor or Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Certified or demonstrable experience in or familiarity with substance use disorders and/or Medication Assisted Treatment. Working Conditions Works indoors in an outpatient clinic Mondays-Fridays 8:15am-5:00pm with possible evening (as determined by clinic needs) Ability to use an Electronic Health Record as well as a telehealth application (as allowed by regulations) Sessions may be in person or via telehealth (audio/visual) as appropriate for each client May be required to physically assist clients, may need to carry objects up to 10 pounds.
