Requires a high school diploma or GED and either completion of a veterinary technician program or two years of clinical experience. Must be proficient in various medical procedures, animal handling, and basic Microsoft Office software.
The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Technicians to join our Trauma Hospital team. This role is based at our state-of-the-art Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus. As a veterinary technician, you will assist the operations of the Shelter Medical teams, championing AHS' core values of innovation, compassion, and excellence. You will assists veterinarians in the treatment of animals and independently evaluative animals to determine adoptability. You will work alongside the team to ensure high levels of patient care. You will be a relationship builder who collaborates with veterinarians, veterinarian technicians, and department leaders to solve problems and implement positive changes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There may be occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated office environment.
