Provide recovery-based peer support and education to individuals within the criminal justice system to aid recovery from mental illness and addiction. Coordinate with pretrial services and community resources to ensure members receive necessary behavioral health services and support post-release.
Requires a high school diploma and lived experience with the criminal justice system and behavioral health or substance abuse recovery. A valid Arizona driver's license, CPR/First Aid certification, and preferably two years of behavioral health experience are required.
Description *This position requires the candidate to have lived experience (personal or through a family member) with the criminal justice system.
Summary Working in the Pima County Adult Detention Complex and the community, promotes a recovery based approach to member care that emphasizes hope, respect, self-direction and empowerment by providing peer support, education on community resources and other supportive services, to aid in members’ recovery from mental illness and/or addiction disorders. Guidance and direction is provided by the Regional Program Manager and/or the Senior Director of Community Programs.
