The Medical Assistant is responsible for greeting patients, performing triage, and assisting providers with examinations and minor procedures. They also manage clinical supplies, maintain sanitary work areas, and handle patient documentation and scheduling.
A high school diploma is required, while medical office experience and Medical Assistant certification are preferred. Candidates must obtain CPR certification within six weeks of hire.
Essential Responsibilities Greets patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner at all times. Maintains patient confidentiality, respect and HIPAA guidelines at all times. Assists patients and providers preparing with examinations, minor procedures within the office, phlebotomy and/or collection of specimens. Performs blood pressures, vital signs and physical assessment of patient through triage. Performs ancillary testing as ordered by providers. Completes clear, accurate documentation within the patient medical record. Maintains all clinical areas with supplies necessary to function daily. Keeps exam rooms and work areas within the office clean and sanitary at all times. Assists with making patient appointments outside of the office. Assists with telephone triage, refilling prescription medication as directed by providers. Other duties as assigned. Scheduled Hours: 32 hour/week Work Shift: M - F 8:30a - 5p Job Requirements Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience Medical office experience preferred Required Licenses/Certifications Certification as Medical Assistant and/or completion of a Medical Assistant certification program preferred. CPR certification within six weeks of hire. Functional Demands Physical Demands Help patients to exam table when necessary. Pay Range: $21.00 - $28.26 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
