The RN provides stabilization, resuscitation, and ongoing care for newborns and preterm infants in the NICU. They are responsible for coordinating patient care, educating parents, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safety and quality standards.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Texas with BLS certification, and obtain NRP and STABLE certifications within specified timeframes. Experience in Level II NICU and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing are preferred.
The RN knows and conforms to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and the Board's rules and regulations as well as all federal, state, and local laws, rules or regulations. The RN is responsible and accountable for providing, delegating, and coordinating patient care, ensures that patient care needs, standards of safety, standards of care and patient rights are met, and coordinates plan of care and collaborates with team members to achieve goals of the unit for patient education and discharge planning.
