The Occupational Therapist conducts comprehensive assessments and directs treatment for individuals and groups while supervising support personnel. They are responsible for developing home programs, selecting adaptive equipment, and documenting services according to medical center standards.
Candidates must hold a State of Texas Occupational Therapy license and obtain BLS certification within 30 days. One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides services, conducts comprehensive assessments and directs treatment to individuals and groups, supervises treatment delivered by the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, and supervises and directs support personnel. The OT develops home programs, provides patient and family instruction and participates in family and team conferences as needed, evaluates and selects adaptive equipment as needed, and participates in quality improvement programs and documents services according to Medical Center and department standards.
