Educate inpatient and outpatient patients on tobacco cessation and conduct intake sessions to gather patient history. Collaborate with medical professionals to create individualized treatment plans and track patient progress for up to one year.
Requires a degree and current license in RN, LCSW, LPC, LAC, or Respiratory Therapy, with 3 years of patient care or counseling experience. Must obtain tobacco training specialist and Fax-to-Quit certifications within three months of hire.
The Certified Tobacco Training Specialist (CTTS) works with patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting to educate them about tobacco cessation. The CTTS works with the Tobacco Cessation Coordinator and the program's nurse practitioner to provide intake sessions to gather information about the patient's history and tobacco use. The CTTS collaborates with a nurse practitioner and/or physician to individualize treatment plans to assist participants with cessation and tracks patients for up to one year following counseling services.
