The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for collecting blood, urine, throat, and nasal specimens while ensuring proper patient identification and specimen integrity. They also process specimens for internal distribution or reference labs and maintain departmental supply inventory.
A high school diploma and phlebotomy certification are preferred for this role. Candidates should be able to perform various collection techniques and coordinate with nursing and providers to resolve test order issues.
