• Range: $17.00 - $17.00 HourlySelf-Direction DSP - Oswego Ny Area (Job #AT-BP) ARISE is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Respite services to a young school aged girl in the Oswego, NY area. We are looking for a patient, kind, and reliable individual to support her and give her family a well-deserved respite. This young girl is loving and friendly. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing with toys, playing on her IPAD, swimming, drawing and painting. She is learning to communicate verbally. She has limited vocabulary and utilizes hand gestures to help her make her needs and wants known. At times she can become frustrated when trying to communicate. Some behavioral redirection may be needed at times. Prior experience a plus but not required- Guidance on activities and training will be provided by the family in conjunction with the agency supervisor. Some responsibilities include assisting with some personal care, transportation, practicing independent living skills, practicing communication skills and participating with her in her hobbies of choice. Valid NYS driver's license and a reliable vehicle required.
• Pay
• Rate: $19.00/hour All new hires must complete a five-hour initial training online; the training rate is $17/hour.

Hours

• 6 hours a week,
• Thursday and

Qualifications Must have a valid drivers license Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
