Provide diversified administrative and secretarial support to the Radiology department, including managing confidential medical records and scheduling exams. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, composing correspondence, and assisting supervisors with executive functions.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of secretarial or clinical experience. An associate degree in secretarial science is preferred.

Maintain files and security of confidential information: e.g. patient medical records, hospital financial information, salary, staff and legal information of a confidential nature. 2. Coordinate and track projects and committee decisions through the department or hospital to ensure paperwork is complete/appropriate, and follow-up services are provided in a timely fashion 3. Arrange meetings and appointments. 4. Provide research and administrative support to special projects, preparing data and follow-up projects. 5. Compose correspondence, memos, and reports as instructed. Take dictation and/or transcribe from handwritten material or Dictaphone. Type, format and proofread a variety of materials including correspondence, memos, reports, charts, statistics, minutes of meetings, etc. 6. Respond to calls and visits from physicians, physician offices, and patients; determine the urgency of the situation. Suggest appropriate referrals or inform supervisor when situation warrants attention. 7. Perform certain executive functions to assist the supervisor including making decisions within authorized scope or directing the decision making to the proper authority. 8. Maintain established department/hospital policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, safety, environmental and infection control. 9. Maintain required records, files, and compile required statistics. 10. Maintain department equipment and supplies. 11. Attend meetings as required and participate on committees as directed. 12. Maintains professional growth and development through educational programs and inservice meetings.
