The Therapist provides comprehensive clinical services, including assessments and evidence-based therapy for individuals, families, and groups. They are responsible for developing individualized treatment plans and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team to support client recovery.
A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required, along with an active state license or license-eligible status. Preference is given to candidates with 1-2 years of experience in behavioral health or substance use settings.
The Therapist provides comprehensive clinical services to individuals, families, and groups within a behavioral health setting. This role includes conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering evidence-based therapy, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary team members to support each client’s recovery and overall well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct initial clinical assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and mental status examinations.
· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary staff.
· Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
· Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with agency policy, DCF, Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards.
· Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and clinical supervision.
· Coordinate care with medical, psychiatric, and case management staff to ensure continuity of services.
· Facilitate crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed.
· Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
· Support discharge planning and aftercare coordination.
· Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain licensure and stay informed on best practices.
· Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.
· Active state license or license-eligible status (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
· CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
· Minimum of 1–2 years of experience providing therapy in a behavioral health, substance use, or related clinical setting preferred.
· Experience with trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, and evidence-based practices strongly preferred.
· Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and therapeutic interventions.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
· Commitment to ethical practice, client confidentiality, and cultural competence.
· Primarily office-based in a behavioral health facility.
· May require participation in on-call or after-hours crisis response.
· Exposure to individuals experiencing emotional distress or behavioral crises.
· Ability to sit, stand, and engage in therapeutic sessions for extended periods.
· Occasional lifting or movement of light materials (<20 lbs)
