Job Title: Activity Aide

Department: Resident Home

Status: Part Time, 24 hours per week

Schedule: 4pm-10pm

Summary/Objective

The Activity assistant is responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, and supervising scheduled therapeutic activities for all residents.

Essential Functions

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• Participates and contributes to resident care planning
• Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.
• Coordinates with area churches for religious services.
• Assess, plans and implements activities which are within their capabilities, therapeutic needs which includes one to one activities and community functions.
• Strives to obtain new volunteers and is able to work well with them.
• Constantly strives to implement new activities each month.
• Ensures mail is distributed Monday through Saturday (delegate as needed).
• Implements arts and craft projects.
• Cares and maintains the aviary.
• Contributes to organizational operations by performing other related duties as assigned.

• Education/Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Iroquois Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed hospital located in Watseka, Illinois.
• The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community.
• These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care.
• The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN.
• The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
