Job Description

• DBIS is a not-for-profit agency located in New York City that serves individuals with developmental disabilities.
• The Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) is responsible for planning and implementing person-centered Behavior Support Plans.
• In addition, the Behavior Intervention Specialist works hands-on to redirect maladaptive behaviors, assist in crisis management, and provide individual counseling.
• Planning, coordination, and implementing Behavior Support Plans Train and supervise Team Leaders & Direct Support Professionals in implementing Behavior Support Plans.
• Ensuring accurate data collection, Reviewing ABC sheets, and assessing trends Conduct behavior review meetings, document, and disseminate results.
• Maintain open communication with the program, clinical and administrative staff.
• Mandatory Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Mental Health field.
• Must have Driver's License to communicate between Group home and office.

Preferences

The agency prefers candidates with certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ex. BCBA or RBT) and previous experience with adults with developmental disabilities in residential and Day Habilitation settings.
