Veterinary Technician - Urgent Care

Pay: $21.10 - $40.60 / hour This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system. *
• Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience*
• We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. *Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.00 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.00 Shift Differential As an Urgent Care Veterinary Technician, you will: Triage cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Sedate/induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
