This position is limited to 32 hours per week, but does come with the full state benefits package.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled speech therapist to provide exceptional therapy services to geropsychiatric patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive services in accordance with the standards set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), state regulations, facility policies, and departmental guidelines. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff, clients, community providers, and families.
Develop, plan, and implement speech therapy interventions and group sessions using a multi-modal, evidence-based, and trauma-informed approach to promote recovery and functional outcomes.
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments addressing both psychosocial and physical deficits, applying appropriate ST interventions.
Participate in special unit activities, and respond to patient safety needs, including occasional irregular work hours.
Maintain proficiency in standardized client assessments, documentation, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Develop appropriate treatment plans and manage cases with strong time management and organizational skills.
Apply clinical judgment in selecting and individualizing adaptive equipment and therapeutic activities to enhance patient functionality.
Completion of all requirements for a master's degree in speech/language pathology.
Licensed and certified to practice speech/language pathology in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Experienced at designing, implementing, and evaluating assessment and treatment/training strategies in the domain of speech/language pathology
Experience in a hospital setting. Experience in Geriatrics
