Performs blood and urine specimen collection via venipuncture and capillary methods for patients of all age groups. Provides essential test preparation and collection information to patients, families, and nursing staff.
Requires a high school diploma and completion of an accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant program, or at least 6 months of experience. ASCP or equivalent certification is preferred.
Performs Phlebotomy and related specimen collection on In Patients, Out Patients, on all age groups for a variety of lab tests.
Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods, as well as urine specimens from all age groups, for a variety of laboratory tests and procedures. These are used in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Provides specimen collection information and test preparation information to nursing, patients and family members as appropriate.
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program that includes phlebotomy or a minimum of 6 months experience in phlebotomy.
ASCP or equivalent certification.
