The Direct Support Professional assists individuals with daily living activities, health management, and community integration. Responsibilities include medication administration, meal preparation, and promoting independence through positive relationship building.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, a valid Michigan driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Availability for afternoon, overnight, and weekend shifts is mandatory.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
