The DSP supports individuals in achieving personal goals and integrating into their community through assistance with daily living and health management. Key duties include medication administration, meal preparation, and facilitating participation in community activities.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid State of Michigan driver's license. Additional requirements include the ability to lift 50 lbs, pass background checks, and obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
