Perform venipuncture and specimen collection while managing order entry, billing, and clinical report distribution. Assist with specimen processing, instrument maintenance, and general office tasks such as patient registration.
Requires a High School Diploma and BLS/CPR Certification. Phlebotomy experience is preferred for this full-time position.
The phlebotomist performs venipuncture, skin puncture, and specimen collection procedures, managing order entry and billing by assessing medical necessity, and handling various office tasks like answering phones, typing, and filing. They distribute clinical reports, assist with specimen processing, and may perform patient registration. The position includes conducting waived kit testing, micro set-ups, loading specimens onto instruments, and possibly performing instrument maintenance, calibration, and quality control depending on the shift. This role requires access to confidential patient information, emphasizing the importance of ethical behavior and respect for security and privacy.
