The Mental Health Tech creates a safe environment for patients and provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, individual/family education groups, and activities of daily living.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a bachelor's degree preferred. One year of experience working with a psychiatric patient population is preferred, along with knowledge of psychiatric processes and crisis management.

Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred or ability to learn.
