Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing professional nursing care for SIH patients. Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team. Provide in health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients Demonstrate ability to use clinical judgment in conjunction with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition. Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record Provide input the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensures.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Must have at least 1-year minimum experience working in ED. We have had agency in the past with less than one year experience and they were not effective. Must have Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing Must have Current Illinois Registered Nurse license Current CPR/BLS Card required Must obtain Current ACLS card & PALS card within 6 months of hire TNCC (within 1 year of hire or residency graduation) desired ECRN (within 24 months of hire of residency graduation) desired Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
• Compliance/Screening (Pre-Start): Drug screen and background check (facility required) Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned
