Provide crisis intervention services including telephone counseling, conflict resolution, and linking individuals to community mental health and drug and alcohol services. Work overnight shifts to support the well-being of residents throughout Cambria County.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field with one year of mental health experience, or a high school diploma with specific social science credits and two years of experience. Must possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field. With major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one-year experience in mental health field required. Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required. Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply. QualificationsPosition Qualifications: Required: Preferred: Education: Must have a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling, Education or a related field. (Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred) or Be a registered nurse or Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience (Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred) (2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred) Experience: One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree. See experience requirements above for applicants without a bachelors degree. Licenses, Certificates or Clearances: Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances. Valid Driver’s License. Car Insurance Coverage Verification. Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of de-escalation techniques, computer literate, knowledge of 302/201 process, and knowledge of PA resources.
