The Physical Therapist plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to restore function and relieve pain for patients. They evaluate patient conditions, develop treatment programs, and instruct patients and families on continued care.
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution and an active or temporary Physical Therapist license from the Louisiana State Board. Basic Life Support certification is also required, along with a working knowledge of computer software.
Bachelor of Science or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA accredited institution required. Active or temporary Physical Therapist license from the Louisiana State Board of Physical Therapy required. Temporary license holders must obtain active license within 90 days of hire. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required. Working knowledge of computer software to include, but not be limited to: word processing and spreadsheets.
Trigger point dry needling certification preferred, but not required. Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Physical Effort required: Constant (67% - 100%) – talking, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%) – NONE Occasionally (1%-33%) – lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling/feeling EMPLOYMENT Each St. Tammany Health System staff member is expected to conduct himself or herself according to our mission, vision and values.
