Hemodialysis Technician

• Assists hemodialysis patients before, during and after procedures.
• Maintain dialysis machines to ensure proper functioning Job Description: Primary Responsibilities: Review results of monthly water cultures of all HD equipment; and follow protocol for abnormal results (essential) Daily disinfecting and weekly bleaching of machines (essential) Maintaining machines which include updating clipboards, restocking machine supplies and ensuring machines are tidy and ready for use.. (essential) Physical requirement needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift. (essential) Assists with patient care including: transfers of patients into bed, obtaining weight, applying monitoring equipment (essential) Assists in monitoring through treatment (essential) Assists with set up and monitoring of all hemodialysis equipment (essential) Collects monthly water cultures of all HD equipment; Review results and follow protocol for abnormal results (essential) Identifies and participates in quality improvement process (essential) Closely collaborates with Clinical Engineering and outside vendors to maintain equipment (essential) Daily water testing, completion of equipment quality control checks, machine logs, machine disinfection per policy (essential) Works with materials management team to maintain Par levels of supplies, monitors integrity of products including expiration dates, participates in the evaluation of new products and supplies as needed (essential) Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required.
• Vocational or Technical training preferred.
• License Cert Clin Hemodialysis Tech required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in Acute Care Hemodialysis Unit preferred Competencies: Decision Making: Ability to make decisions that are based on specific instructions, standard practices and established procedures which generally require little or no supervision. Problem Solving: Ability to address problems that are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures and by identifying opportunities for process improvements. Independence of Action: Ability to follow general instructions and procedures as provided. Work is monitored by supervisor/manager. Written Communications: Ability to read, and write in English in order to understand basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively with patients, families and other medical center staff; and respond to basic questions. Oral Communications: Ability to understand spoken English in order to follow basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively in basic English with patients, families and medical center staff in response to routine questions.

• Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use them in routine situations. Specialized knowledge not required.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $28.26 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
