The optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose sight problems and diseases, and prescribe corrective lenses or medications. They are also responsible for establishing long-term patient relationships and providing pre- and postoperative care.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution. Additionally, they must have passed all required optometric state boards.
