Rehabilitation Services Technician - Bloomington

Overview

This is a full-time (30 hours per week) hourly position at our Bloomington Hospital.

This role performs designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the clinician(s). Assists the clinician to provide safe mobility and positioning of the patient as needed. Maintains and cleans treatment areas and equipment.

Top duties of the position include

1. “Turning over rooms” between patients. We see patient’s every 45 minutes and have up to 13 clinicians on site per day. This would consist of wiping down mat tables, changing linens and cleaning/putting away used equipment. 2. Assisting in patient care as needed, such as assistance with transfers

3. Attending to equipment and material logs, assuring that materials are in good working order and not expired.

• Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required. Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies. May perform scheduling, customer service and some clerical duties. Rehabilitation Technicians can transport medications to/from the patient treatment room for patient treatment.
• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires successful completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Rehab experience preferred.
• Requires familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.
