Requires a Master's Degree in Psychology or a related mental health field and at least 2 years of job-related experience. Must possess a valid Washington driver's license and reliable transportation for community outreach.
Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Therapist to join our team providing direct clinical services to adults with complex behavioral health needs. As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you’ll help clients achieve their goals through counseling, case management, and care coordination in both office and community-based settings.
Provide care coordination and direct therapeutic services, including individual, group, and family counseling. Deliver crisis intervention and case management services to assigned clients. Develop, implement, and revise treatment goals and plans in collaboration with the treatment team. Educate and support clients’ families while advocating for client rights and preferences. Coordinate care with external agencies such as DSHS, courts, and housing authorities. Assist clients in accessing medical and dental care and develop self-management health skills. Facilitate coordination of psychiatric and medical care with providers. Respond to behavioral health crises and coordinate with Designated Crisis Responders when needed. Document services and client progress in accordance with agency standards. Attend team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and client progress reviews. Provide education on substance use issues and collaborate with internal and external providers. Support clients in accessing basic resources and developing life skills for autonomy. Monitor court-ordered LRA compliance and coordinate with CRT and legal stakeholders as needed.
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field. EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience) This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must meet agency driving requirements, including meeting the minimum age requirement of 21 years old, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation. LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor (can be obtained after employment)
EXPERIENCE: Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment. LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC) *A sign-on bonus is a form of compensation for a new employee in addition to their established salary. Bonus amounts are prorated by FTE, and any changes to FTE before all bonus installments are paid may alter the total payout.
