The Optometric Technician assists the Optometrist by collecting patient medical history and performing pre-screening tests. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment, sterilizing rooms, and managing patient records.
A high school diploma is required, and at least two years of related experience is preferred. Candidates must be Spanish speaking and have knowledge of optics and basic medical terminology.
The Optometric Technician will work directly with the Optometrist to provide optimal patient services and flow by accurately ascertaining the necessary required data from patients. Technician must adhere to strict confidentiality and consistently provides quality patient care. Communicating with patients to collect medical history and screening patient for visual activities Perform pre-screening tests Assist with equipment maintenance, sterilize room and refills supplies Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner Maintain all patient records accurately Comply with all company policies and procedures
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years related experience preferred Knowledge and experience with optics, basic medical terminology and history taking preferred Spanish speaking required
