Responsibilities
- 6 month Assignment - 3 x 12 hrs shifts per week - (Nights or AM/PM) $70 PER HOUR Our Intensive Care Units at GW Hospital:
- Medical ICU (MICU): High-complexity patients requiring advanced critical care interventions.
- Surgical ICU (SICU): Specializing in trauma, neuro, and post-operative intensive care.
- Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU): Advanced cardiac support including open-heart surgery recovery and ECMO therapy. Responsibilities
Patient Care: Deliver compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
Monitoring
Utilize advanced monitoring technology to assess and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other relevant data. Respond promptly to changes in patient status.
Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care.
- Critical
- Thinking: Apply advanced critical thinking skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans for complex medical conditions.
Advocacy
Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and ensuring their needs are met throughout the care journey.
Documentation
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Education
- Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Quality
- Improvement: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and contribute to the ongoing improvement of nursing practices within the ICU.
Qualifications
- BSN or currently enrolled.
