Responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instrumentation and equipment. This includes assembling case carts based on surgeon preference cards and maintaining a safe, clean work area.
Requires a high school diploma and a certification such as CCST, CSPD, or CSPT, along with Basic Life Support certification. Preferred experience includes two years in an Operating Room or Sterile Processing Department.
Summary: Level I Sterile Processing Tech is an entry-level position. Incumbents are expected to learn the full range of duties/responsibilities. Level I Tech must promote to Level II Tech within six months of employment.
