Provide basic patient care activities and non-professional services to ensure patient comfort. Assist nursing staff in the Emergency Department with essential clinical tasks.
Requires a valid phlebotomy certification or a current EMT certification with phlebotomy training. BLS certification and experience in phlebotomy are mandatory.
St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time ER Tech to assist in providing basic patient care activities for which employee has been prepared, as well as non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
Certification from an approved phlebotomy training program required, with the exception of EMT, see below. Certification must be valid and current. National certification for EMT valid and current or higher with Phlebotomy training via SMMC within 6 months.
Experience in phlebotomy required. Employees practicing in this role more than 10 years at SMMC are exempt from certification requirements.
Verbal ability required to communicate with patients and understand instructions received from nursing staff; manual dexterity required to use hands easily skillfully while aiding patients. BLS required.
