The sonographer administers ultrasound procedures to pregnant patients and operates specialized equipment for high-risk obstetrics. Responsibilities include assisting with invasive procedures, performing Doppler studies, and conducting high-detail Level 2 ultrasounds.
Candidates must be registry eligible through ARDMS and obtain certifications in OB/GYN, Fetal Echo, and Nuchal Translucency. An associate or bachelor's degree in Ultrasound/Sonography is preferred, along with BLS certification.
