The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing, packaging, and distributing medications under pharmacist supervision. They also manage pharmacy inventory and restock automated dispensing systems throughout the hospital.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Required certifications include registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy and National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under pharmacist supervision Deliver medications and restock automated medication dispensing systems throughout the hospital Support medication order processing and pharmacy workflow operations Assist with medication compounding and preparation activities Maintain pharmacy inventory, monitor stock levels, and remove outdated medications Receive and process medication deliveries from wholesalers and suppliers Enter and update patient and medication information within pharmacy systems Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare teams to support safe patient care Assist with routine pharmacy operations and departmental tasks as needed
Education: High school diploma (or GED) License(s)/Certification(s): Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician National Pharmacy Technician Certification
