Perform diagnostic imaging procedures for pediatric patients while ensuring accuracy in orders and diagnostic quality. Maintain radiation safety standards and document all procedures accurately in EMR and PACS systems.
Requires a High School Diploma, an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, and ARRT certification. BLS certification is required, and experience in pediatric or orthopedic radiology is preferred.
Assesses orders for accuracy and clarifies with provider prior to imaging, if necessary (correct CPT code, correct body part, correct side, correct views) Reviews images for diagnostic quality, which includes proper collimation, use of markers, and positioning accuracy Demonstrates age specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to make appropriate adjustments in the care of patients Practice appropriate radiation safety as designated in Federal and State Radiation Control Regulations. Practices A.L.A.R.A at all times Observes established policies, safety, environmental, and infection control standards Documents consistently and accurately in EMR, PACS, and any other areas per facility requirements Ensures equipment is properly functioning and reports any potential problems or malfunctions to the appropriate contact(s) Maintains professional credentials as required by ARRT and/or state regulations Demonstrates competent technical skills in the use of imaging equipment, quality control and troubleshooting Note: This is not an all-inclusive list of this job's responsibilities.
