Operates x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs and manages patient positioning and care. Maintains departmental records and participates in performance improvement activities.
Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology program and hold or be eligible for ARRT registration. CPR certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross is required.
Prepares and operates x-ray equipment and positions patient to produce Radiographs for diagnosis. Develops film. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Performs diagnostic radiographic services as ordered by a physician. · Operates imaging or other equipment with use of phototiming whenever possible. · Positions, immobilizes and transfers patients as necessary; assumes care for physical and psychological need of patients. · Calculates exposure factors; practices radiation protection; evaluates radiographs for technical quality. · CR & PACS procedures. · Performs sterile and isolation techniques when necessary. 2. Maintains patient and departmental records, as necessary. 3. Evaluates department functions and makes recommendations to assigned Manager; 4. assumes responsibility for portions of the performance improvement plan. 5. May be responsible for specific areas of instruction involving Technologists, students, and ancillary personnel. 6. Responsible for replacing routine and emergency supplies promptly after usage. 7. Performs quick registrations on patients, if applicable. 8. Performs EKG’s, if applicable. 9. Provides for the age specific needs of the population served according to department standards, as evidenced by observation, documentation, and peer feedback. Participates in performance improvement activities. 11. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Required: · Graduate of a Radiological Technology program approved by the American Medical Association · Registration or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within the twelve (12) months of hire or transfer · CPR issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross Certification Preferred: NONE Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Ability to perform a variety of procedures which require independent judgment, ingenuity to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
