Perform routine patient care and daily needs under the direction of licensed professional nurses. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain a safe patient environment and adhere to quality best practices.
Must be a certified Nurse Aide by the Virginia Department of Health Professions and hold an AHA BLS CPR certification. Depending on the specific unit, one year of acute care, cardiology, or home health experience may be required.
The Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) functions under the direction of a licensed professional nurse (nurse). Under the supervision of the nurse, CNAs perform care appropriate to the patient population served and meet daily routine patient care needs. The CNA performs their duties based on the unit care delivery model. This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver care as outlined by the nurse.

The CNA's practice reflects the laws and regulations for a Certified Nurse Aide as outlined by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
