The paramedic is responsible for delivering care to assigned patients, including assessment, implementation, coordination, teaching, consulting, and evaluation of patient care. They enhance the quality and professionalism of patient care practices and participate in shared decision-making.
An Associate of Science in Paramedicine or a related healthcare degree is preferred, along with 5 years of experience as a paramedic or 3 years in a high-volume patient care setting. Licensure as a Kentucky Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
