Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician's Assistant) Cardiothoracic Surgery

As a Locum NP or PA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our esteemed cardiothoracic surgical team. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring successful outcomes for patients undergoing procedures in this specialized field.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures and post-operative care Collaborate with surgeons and medical professionals for optimal patient outcomes Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records Provide crucial support during pre-operative evaluations Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care

Requirements

Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related fields preferred Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Commitment to providing patient-centered care Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Schedule: 12, 13, or 24-hour shifts

Daily Census: 3-6 patients + consults

16-bed ICU

APP is only responsible for surgical aspects of ICU

Skills Needed: ECMO, ventricular support, central and arterial lines, catheter insertion/removal

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
