Assists the surgical team by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, and passing instruments and medications during procedures. Responsible for performing instrument, sponge, and needle counts while ensuring equipment is cleaned and facilities are maintained.
Requires a high school diploma and mandatory CST or NCCT-ST certification along with BLS/CPR certification. Recent experience in open-heart or cardiothoracic surgery is required.

Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.
