The Monitor Technician provides 24/7 telemetry monitoring and observation for inpatients to identify and prevent acute medical events. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, maintaining equipment, and entering patient data into Epic and MUSE systems.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of direct patient care experience. Certification as a PCT and completion of a dysrhythmia course are required within the first few months of hire.

High school diploma/GED, PLUS Six (6) months of direct patient care-related experience. PCT certified within three (3) months of hire (training provided). Special knowledge, abilities, and skills: Must complete the dysrhythmia course within a 90-day evaluation period and maintain competency as a telemetry technician. Must have excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability.
Responsibilities: Performs EKG in a timely manner; cleans EKG equipment after each patient use, maintains a clear electrocardiogram signal, and problem-solves interferences of pattern; Assign an overreader in MUSE. Enters all patient information in Epic, EKG machine, and MUSE Other duties as assigned.
