Requires a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in New York State and a Master's degree with board certification. Preference is given to candidates with 1-2 years of experience in cardiology, oncology, or internal medicine.
Catholic Health is seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Cardio-Oncology team under the leadership of Dr. Syed Saad Mahmood, an internationally trained and board-certified expert in Cardio-Oncology, Heart Failure, and Cardiovascular Diseases. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a nationally recognized leader in a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary field at the intersection of cardiology and oncology. The APP will help manage the cardiovascular health of cancer patients and survivors, supporting them through therapies that may impact cardiac function. About Dr. Syed Saad Mahmood: System Director of Cardio-Oncology, Catholic Health Board-certified in Cardio-Oncology (ICOS), Heart Failure (HFSA), and Cardiovascular Diseases (ABIM) Completed Internal Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine Subspecialty Fellowship in Cardio-Oncology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and MGH, Harvard Medical School Medical Degree from Case Western Reserve University Dr. Mahmood specializes in helping cancer patients tolerate the cardiovascular side effects of life-saving cancer therapies, including heart failure, ischemia, and arrhythmias. He also focuses on optimizing cardiac health in cancer survivors, providing comprehensive and compassionate care across the cancer journey.
Conduct cardiovascular assessments and manage treatment plans for oncology patients with cardiac complications Monitor and address cardiac side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy Collaborate with oncology, cardiology, and primary care teams for integrated patient care Participate in the development of care pathways and patient education Document clinical findings and coordinate follow-up care Contribute to research, quality initiatives, and program development in Cardio-Oncology
Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with current NY State licensure Master's degree required; board certification in respective role Minimum 1–2 years of cardiology, oncology, or internal medicine experience preferred Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration Interest in emerging fields such as Cardio-Oncology, survivorship care, and precision medicine Why Join Catholic Health?
