The technologist operates X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment planning, working under the direct supervision of the Radiology Supervisor. Essential functions include demonstrating competence across all patient age groups, applying radiation protection principles, and ensuring image quality through proper technique and positioning.
Candidates must have satisfactory completion of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology and possess current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, along with a South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association license and CPR certification. No prior years of experience are required.

A radiologic technologist, works directly under their Radiology Supervisor and indirectly under the supervision of a radiologist. The radiology technician is responsible for operating X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment in obtaining radiologic images, which are used by the physician to determine diagnosis for their patient. The information gained from these images will also be used to help with developing a treatment plan.
