Mental Health Technicians assist and monitor clients' activities of daily living while ensuring their safety through programming and observations. They interact therapeutically with clients in various settings.
A high school diploma is required, with a preference for a bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field. Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting is preferred, but not mandatory.

The MHT staff work directly with their assigned client population, and their primary responsibility is the safety of our clients. This is achieved through both robust programming and detailed client observations (Q-15’s). Assists and monitors client’s activities of daily living. Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude with clients, families, employees, and management. Interacts therapeutically with clients in one-to-one situations, community and group meetings. Has a basic understanding of common psychiatric diagnoses. Has professional boundaries with clients and demonstrates the ability to be an effective communicator
