The Registered Nurse in Addiction Medicine is primarily responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by executing the full nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while adhering to clinical protocols and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. This role also involves performing clinical procedures, administering treatments, maintaining accurate patient documentation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient treatment and recovery.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and possess 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in addiction medicine or behavioral health outpatient settings. Required credentials include a current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License, BLS certification, and a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.

This individual plays an essential role on the healthcare team by ensuring the delivery of inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive care in accordance with organizational policies, clinical protocols, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. The Registered Nurse – Addiction Medicine demonstrates strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and leadership skills while supporting patients and their families through treatment and recovery. Additionally, this role contributes to the success of the care team by promoting professional development, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal health outcomes.
1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)). 2. 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting (preferably in an addiction medicine or behavioral health outpatient setting). 3. Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish.
Certifications / Licenses
1. Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License. 2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire, or within three-months of employment. 3. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), per FHC guidelines.
