The Chaplain ensures patients and families receive desired spiritual care counseling services, developing individualized spiritual aspects of the care plan and actively participating as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Duties also include providing spiritual care and support to staff through one-on-one interaction, prayer, and leading meditations in staff gatherings.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Seminary or School of Theology with an M.DIV or equivalent theological degree, and must possess four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with no exceptions. Preferred qualifications include ecclesiastical endorsement and board certification, alongside experience working with death and dying.

The role of the Chaplain is to ensure that each patient and/or family have spiritual care counseling services, as desired. The Chaplain develops and implements the spiritual aspects of hospice care, participates in the hospice team, and arranges the provision of spiritual and emotional care to patients, families and staff members.
